Higher Education Priorities for the 2025-2026 Academic Period

In order to achieve the training of competent professionals, faculty excellence, and the economic and social impact of the center’s results. The priorities for work in Holguin for the 2025-2026 academic period in Higher Education are highlighted.

The meeting, which took place at the Oscar Lucero Moya campus of the University of Holguin. Brought together faculty directors, program coordinators, and administrative staff. Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, Vice Minister of Higher Education, was also present.

During his speech, the Vice Minister of Higher Education emphasized that, in this new phase, commitment to the challenges and transformations facing the sector must prevail. He also expressed special interest in the logistical and organizational measures implemented in the region to ensure the quality of the teaching calendar.
According to Dr. C. Amauri Batista Salvador, advisor to the Undergraduate Education Department, the priorities include strengthening political and ideological work. Improving the teaching of Marxism in history, and strengthening the methodological preparation of teachers.

Likewise, the need to improve higher education admissions, enhance distance education, and adjust enrollment targets according to current demographics was emphasized.

The work during this phase will also focus on doctoral training, promoting the export of services, and consolidating the University of Holguin. Also which recently obtained the category of excellence in the Institutional Evaluation. Reaffirming its position as a space for growth and a benchmark in professional training throughout the country.
