The installation of modern technology at the General José Miró Argenter Polygraphic Press in Holguin will allow for color printing of the national press for eastern Cuba before the end of the year. As part of a technological transformation process in this industry.
Carlos González Mulet, director of the entity, confirmed to CNA that the color press run is scheduled for December. The polygraphic press in the eastern territory is in the third stage of the investment process in the country, preceded by those in Havana and Villa Clara.

The director emphasized that the civil works are approximately 50 percent complete. In order to undertake the modernization, the printing of newspapers with the traditional machinery installed has not been halted.
The new equipment’s technology is internationally competitive thanks to specialized machines for flatbed printing and other materials. Which will guarantee high-quality production in magazines, books, catalogs, and other items, he added.

Under the commercial name SoyGraf (I’mGraph), the Holguin Graphic Base Business Unit belongs to the Newspaper Company. Also its industrial reconversion will allow for expanded production chains with new economic players.
This project is part of a national program, the result of negotiations between Cuba and the People’s Republic of China. Aimed at creating capacities for competitive graphic printing that offers higher-quality products.
