The Cuban delegation is engaged in a fierce battle with Canada this Friday for seventh place in the medal standings at the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, just two days before the end of the competition.
On the penultimate day, the Caribbean nation won five gold medals, two silver, and three bronce. Now boasting 14 gold, eight silver, and 12 bronze medals. Increasing its pressure on the Canadian team (15-16-21), seventh in the competition.
This Thursday, the United States won seven titles, two runner-up finishes, and nine third-place finishes to displace Colombia (38-25-36) from second place in the medal standings.
Mexico, fourth in the standings with 24 gold medals, 43 silver, and 42 bronze, is also under pressure from Argentina, fifth (21-35-23).
Behind Cuba are Venezuela (10-11-17), Ecuador (6-11-13), Puerto Rico (5-6-8), Guatemala (5-3-2), Paraguay (3-4-12), Jamaica (3-2-4), and Peru (2-3-14).
