Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transportation, highlighted on Facebook the increase in the presence of electric tricycles. Providing public transportation services in several Cuban towns as an alternative for public mobility.
These vehicles are already part of daily life in several communities. Thanks to the support of the national industry with its strategic suppliers and the contribution of the Fund for the Development of Public Transportation, the head of MITRANS emphasized.
Regarding this transportation option, Rodríguez Dávila emphasized that electric tricycles have become a more affordable mobility option for thousands of people across the country.
Their presence in different provinces and municipalities connects neighborhoods, facilitates short trips, and complements other public transportation modes. Which are greatly impacted by shortages of spare parts and fuel.
The country currently has 432 of these modes of transportation, present in most provinces. An investment that is poised to grow with the future incorporation of new electric tricycles for public transportation.
