The Holguin team, with 297 points, finished second in the first phase of the National Motocross Championship. Held in Sancti Spiritus, where Pinar del Rio (372) won.
The Holguin riders collected three titles, one runner-up title, and two bronze medals. The gold medalists were Arián Meriño García, in the 11-15 age group (CZ 125 cc). Yordanis León Ricardo, in the 16-20 age group (CZ 125 cc), and Rubén Rodríguez Aguilera, in the 16-20 age group (CZ 250 cc).
The silver medal went to Alen Asaca González in the 11-15 years category (special motorcycles). The bronze medals went to Alfredo Danta Carralero in the 11-15 years category (CZ 125 cc) and Rubén Rodríguez in the over 20s category (CZ 250 cc).
Behind the riders from Pinar del Rio and Holguin were, in this order: Mayabeque (295), Sancti Spiritus (258), Havana (142), and Villa Clara (89).
Francisco Madrigal from Sancti Spiritus adds in his report that the next phase will be held in Santa Clara, Villa Clara province.
