Cubs roster released for the National Series

The return of pitchers Carlos Alberto Santiesteban and Michel Cabrera is highlighted on the Holguin Cubs roster. Released this Monday by the Provincial Baseball Commission for the 64th National Series, which begins on September 2nd.

The selected catchers (4) are: Nelson Batista, Carlos Barrabí, Jolber Naranjo, and Ángel David Fernández. The infielders (10) are Michel Gorgüet, Lázaro Cedeño, Luis Raúl Domínguez, Adriel Hechavarría, Ernesto Torres, Richard Oliva, Marcos Fonseca, Arley Poll, Jorlis Bravo, and Yulián Concepción.

To patrol the outfield, the selected players (5) are Yasiel González, Edward Magaña, Juan Christian Onofre, Luis Miguel Santiesteban, and Andrys Agüero.

On the pitching staff (13), Santiesteban and Cabrera are joined by the equally experienced Wilson Paredes, Jesús Enrique Pérez, and José Antonio Sánchez.

Holguin’s pitching staff is completed by Luis Cáser, Jesús Quintán, Ramiro Rodríguez, Orleidis Cuba, José Miguel Rodríguez, and left-handers Uberleydis Estévez, Andriuw Valido, and Norge Luis Cobas.

Also the team’s reserve team (8) is made up of catcher Adriano López, infielders Luis Lawrence and Leonel Rodríguez. Along with outfielders Raúl Pupo and Dagoberto Agüero, and pitchers Dairián Batista-z-, Luis Daniel Rodríguez, and Richard Bouquet.

Moreover as previously announced, the Cubs’ coaching staff is comprised of Lugdis Pineda Romero (Manager), Orbill Pascual Padilla (Assistant 3b). Felicio García Sánchez (Assistant 1b), Raschendy Loureiro Minott (Pitching Coach). Yoenis Dubois Andújar (Pitching Coach), Manuel Cabrera García (Physical Trainer), and Miguel Ángel González (Bench Coach).

Futhermore this coaching staff is completed by Luis Rolando Llorente (Foreman), Ramiro Pichardo Torres (Physical Therapist). Hugo Morales (Physical Therapist), Mario Torres Quinta (Psychologist). Yasser Vázquez Batista (Sabermetrics), and Guido Hernández Montero (Delegate). The Provincial Commissioner is Hirochi Bartutis Pérez.

Finally at the team-building meeting, Bartutis Pérez announced that Yordan Manduley Escalona intends to return to the Cubs, and all efforts will be made to fulfill his wish. He also announced that outfielder Jorge Luis Peña has withdrawn, as he will be residing abroad.
