Havana Film Festival 2025 Keeps Call for Entries Open

The 46th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema (Fincl) is keeping its call open today for filmmakers, screenwriters, designers, and producers to submit their works until August 15th.

That will be the deadline for submissions, which must contain only Latin American or Caribbean themes, completed in 2024 and 2025. It must not have previously participated in other international festivals held in Cuba or shared publicly on digital platforms.

Screenwriters can apply for the festival’s Unpublished Screenplay Award. Designers with a poster for a film from the aforementioned geographical area or event will participate with their poster for the award.

Meanwhile, directors or producers with films shot in 2024 or 2025 can submit their works for the Coral Post-Production Award.

Considered one of the most important events for the visibility of Latin American and Caribbean cinema, Fincl will be held in Havana from December 4th to 14th, 2025.

The festival launched its call for entries in May for Fiction Feature Films, First Feature Films, Documentary Feature Films, Short Films, Animation, Other Territories. As well as the Arrecife, Unpublished Screenplay, Poster, and Post-Production sections.
