Marrero Visits Social and Rehabilitation Projects in Holguin

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz began a working visit to the province of Holguin this Friday. With a tour of the El Cedral farm, a space that has been transformed in a short period of time.

El Cedral, managed by the Provincial Government, is an example of transformation. From being covered in marabou grass, it has become a production center that supplies food to government workers. But also contributes to educational and children’s institutions. Contributes to the sale of agricultural products at affordable prices. On weekends at the Los Chinos market and the Pedro Díaz Coello People’s Council.

During his visit, Marrero verified the progress of the Project. Which reflects the country’s efforts to increase food production and reduce imports.

At the Social Rehabilitation and Reintegration Center, the Prime Minister inquired about the living conditions, nutrition, and the institution’s fulfillment of its social purpose: to reintegrate homeless people into society.

In a close conversation with the sheltered residents, Marrero showed special interest in their health and well-being. Emphasizing the need to treat these people with sensitivity and humanity.

The Prime Minister, along with Joel Queipo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.  Manuel Hernández Aguilera, Governor, emphasized the importance of strengthening social assistance programs. Ensuring that institutions like this one not only provide shelter but also tools for job and family reintegration.

His visit reflects the priority the central government places on local inclusion and development policies for the entire Caribbean nation.

At the time of this report, the Provincial Council of People’s Power was inaugurated in Marrero’s presence. He will later participate in the inauguration of the Holguin Science and Technology Park.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Holguin will continue with other activities. In line with the national strategy of overseeing economic and social programs throughout the country.
