The 40th anniversary of the Advisory Council for the Development of Monumental and Environmental Sculpture (CODEMA) will be an opportune occasion to celebrate an important event for the visual arts in Cuba and Holguin.
As a central tribute, a mega-exhibition of sculptures will be held nationwide. Providing an opportunity for participation for all Cuban artists who systematically or infrequently create three-dimensional works.
In the city of Holguin, the CODEMA 40th Anniversary National Salon will open on December 12th at the Provincial Center for Visual Arts. A space that hopes to welcome various artists from the region.
Each artist may submit up to two works—between 50 and 100 centimeters. Which must be unpublished, wall-mounted or free-standing, with themes and materials of the artists’ choice.
With this important exhibition, the Holguin Provincial Center for Visual Arts will close out its 2025 activities. Another year as the city’s hub for the city’s diverse visual expressions. Highlighting the exhibition, defense, and promotion of both young and established artists of Cuban culture.
Two other events will also be held in Holguin in the second half of 2025: the 31st Visual Arts Salon and the Third Gathering of Paper Artists.
