The Cuban Baseball Federation announced today the national shortlist of 46 players. Who will begin their preparations for the U-15 Pan American Championship. Scheduled for September 6-11th in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The team, whose training camp will begin in the coming days in the province of Pinar del Río. It will be coached by Pinar del Río native Alexander Urquiola, who will be tasked with leading this group in their quest for a spot in the next World Cup in this category, in 2026.
Moreover this tournament, organized by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE). Will also bring together the national teams of the Bahamas, Curaçao, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the host country in the Dominican capital to determine the Caribbean representative for the global event.
Simultaneously, two other continental confederations will hold their qualifiers: Consube (South America), from August 30th to September 4th in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Concebe (Central and North America), with the venue and date yet to be determined. Where Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and the United States will compete.
Finally each event will grant a direct spot to the U-15 World Cup. Organized by the Italian Baseball Softball Federation. Planned for the northern hemisphere summer of next year—with final dates and venue to be confirmed.
