Divisions at the opening of the Provincial Baseball Series

The two matches held this Saturday, the second division tournament of the Provincial Baseball Series in Holguin, Jorge Francis Merencio in memoriam, concluded with honorable divisions.

At the Mariano Camacho Romero stadium in Santa Lucía, where the official opening took place. The visiting Mambises de Cacocum opened with a 6-0 victory, with a complete performance by left-hander Maikel Santiesteban against Juan Manuel Perdomo.

Meanwhile, at Luis Alberto Rodríguez Blanco Stadium, Frank País’s visiting Lions won 7-4 in the opening inning, with Rubén Rodríguez scoring a victory and Vladimir Chávez scoring a loss.

Reynier Lara (3-2, 2 RBI), Adrián Elías (2-1, 2 RBI, 2 RBI), and Héctor Daniel Utria (4-1, 2 RBI) stood out with the bat. Victor García drove in two runs for the home team.

Five teams participate in this tournament, playing seven-inning doubleheaders on Wednesdays and Saturdays, always starting at 10:00 a.m., in a single round.

At the end of the eight games for each team, the team with the best win-loss record will advance to the Elite or First Division tournament. In the event of a tie between two or more teams, the tiebreaker system outlined in the competition regulations will be applied.
