Belarus strongly declares the unacceptability of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, said the country’s Slavic president, Aleksander Lukashenko, this Wednesday.
The Belarusian head of state expressed this in remarks to reporters after his meeting in Minsk with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, who is on an official visit to that European country.
“Belarus has experienced what illegal restrictive measures from some hostile states are like. And we strongly declare the unacceptability of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island of freedom. Which causes irreparable harm to the Cuban people,” emphasized Lukashenko.
The president pointed out that for many decades, Cuba has remained a reliable ally of Belarus in the Western hemisphere.
“Our relations are based on mutual respect and equality, the comprehensive support on key issues for both countries. Even in the context of international organizations,” said the president.
