The Territorial Delegation of Hydraulic Resources in the province of Holguin is promoting investments aimed at improving water supply networks to the population, affected by breaks and limitations in acquiring spare parts.
Juan Mario Echavarría Hernández, territorial delegate of the sector, told CNA that among the main projects are the drinking water plant of Ramón II and the pipeline of Jagüeyes, in the municipality of Antilla, which will address difficulties in the service, limited by the intense drought.
He emphasized that investment plans are ongoing in municipalities like Gibara and the provincial capital aimed at recovering imported components by utilizing local resources.
The official emphasized that work continues on resolving breakdowns and leaks, which impacts the provision of better supply to customers of the aqueduct networks.
In the province, feasibility studies focused on incorporating vulnerable settlements benefited by water supply through trucks continue, primarily in the Turquino Plan, the executive specified.
Holguin is working on implementing science, innovation, and links with the national industry to replace imports and use creativity aimed at reducing the negative effects of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba
