Cuba celebrates Fathers’ Day

Cuba celebrates this Sunday, as every third Sunday of June, Fathers’ Day, a date that honors and recognizes the dedication and affection of parents for their children.

This commemoration varies according to the country and popular customs. Some countries celebrate it according to religious traditions and others have established a fixed date in the calendar.

Cuba instituted this day more than eight decades ago on the initiative of writer Dulce MarĂa Borrero.

Currently, the social expression of the event transcends family gatherings or gifts and is dedicated to celebrate, with admiration and gratitude, the lives of men who are fathers.

To all the wonderful fathers, our idols, who insist on breaking the molds and growing up with their children: Congratulations!
