The second edition of the Festival of Vocal Ensembles “Vocalis” concluded with a great tribute concert, starring the Holguin Symphonic Orchestra. The Orfeon and Vocal Monier, and dedicated to outstanding Cuban teachers and musicians.
The show, held this Thursday at the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library, also counted with the participation of the Feeling Voices group, the choir of the Elementary School of Arts of Holguin and Vocal Adalias. Consolidating the event as an essential space for the promotion of emblematic works of music in choral versions.
During the gala, Milagros and Conrado Monier, on behalf of the organizing committee, presented awards to personalities such as researcher Zenovio Hernández, performer and teacher Leydi Laura Brown Monier, promoter Raúl Obret and Camerata Romeu, for their valuable contribution to the event.
The closing ceremony was attended by Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary of the organization in the province. Along with other government authorities and representatives of the artistic sector.
At the end of the day, the presidency of the Festival announced the call for the next edition in 2026, with the aim of consolidating a national reference meeting with choral music as the protagonist.
Founded by maestro Milagros Monier and backed by the distinguished family of the genre, the Festival of Vocal Groups “Vocalis” was held in Holguin, from June 10th to 13th, with a broad program of presentations, talks and panels that brought together exponents and specialists from all over the country with the purpose of promoting this genre within the Cuban musical panorama.
