In order to contribute to the satisfaction of food needs by prioritizing quality fishery products in high demand, the Oriente 2025 Industries Workshop was held in Holguin.
The event, held at Holguin Fishing Company (Holpes), gathered specialists, workers and managers of the sector to strengthen technical knowledge, quality and commercial management in food production.
Martha Cardoso Villavicencio, head of the Fishing Industry Business Group, emphasized that the workshop is focused on training personnel, especially in view of the incorporation of new workers.
“Today the industry is focused on working with alternatives, enhancing private management for the acquisition of raw materials. The essential objective is not only to process fish or mince, but to expand the range and provide more food to the population,” she added.
During the first day, there were training sessions, exchanges and presentations that served to reflect on the challenges of the sector, the optimization of resources and key issues for industrial development.
Nadin Ramos Rodríguez, head of quality of the Business Group, explained: “We address good hygiene practices, standardization, metrology and the sanitary registration process at the National Institute of Food Engineering. Our objective is to guarantee that all products comply with nutritional and quality standards, as established in the Constitution”.
The workshop, which was attended by Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, provincial governor, concluded with the commitment to raise quality standards through strategies that ensure excellence and competitiveness in national and international markets.
