Vocalis, space dedicated to Cuban vocal music in Holguin

With the presentation of groups such as Voces de Angeles, the University Choir and the Selective Choir of the Raul Gomez Garcia Elementary School of Arts, the Festival of Vocal Groups “Vocalis” was inaugurated this Tuesday in Holguin.

Under the slogan “The voice makes the heart smile”, this II edition of the Festival seeks to consolidate the choral tradition in the region and to offer a meeting point for artists, students and public in general.

This year’s program includes panels and concerts, including one by Camerata Romeu this Wednesday at the Cine Martí, as well as theoretical sessions by Mila Monier, Zenovio Hernández and María Monier.

Vocalis also features concerts by groups such as Voces de Ángeles, Coral Universitaria, Vocal Monier, Feeling Voices, Orfeón Holguin, Vocal Adalias and Proyecto Vocal Anima, in addition to the participation of students from the Escuela Elemental de Artes and the Escuela de Instructores de Arte.

The Festival will extend until June 12th with stages in the lobby of Cine Marti and the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library, where the closing gala will take place at 7:00 p.m. with a presentation of the invited artistic collectives together with the Holguin Symphonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Oreste Saavedra.

The organizing committee of Vocalis reaffirms the desire to turn the event into a national reference space for the development and promotion of vocal music, and this year bets on a program that integrates children, young people and established artists, as well as on artistic training through panels and conferences.
