The Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel, located in the seaside resort of Guardalavaca, will develop a new ecological trail. As part of the economic exploitation strategy of that institution in harmony with the environment.
Bárbara Elizabeth Lobet Masferrer, quality and public relations expert at that center, told CNA that this proposal includes the estuary on the beach near the facility, one of the attractions for nature tourism.
She stressed that the initiative includes the approach to flora and fauna species common in the place and the measures focused on their protection, among them the crabs.
In addition, the specialist pointed out, the tourist complex implements proposals aimed at favoring the contact of clients with nature, for example, activities in the self-consumption farm that favors the production of food for the workers’ dining room and the contact with aromatic plants of the tropical geography, such as the yerbabuena (mint).
Lobet Masferrer indicated that the links with the Luis Corona elementary school, located in the community of Guardalavaca, are also being strengthened for the environmental education of the new generations through educational talks and the creation of a circle of interest.
Regarding the application of the circular economy, he pointed out that waste such as coffee grounds, banana peels and ashes used in organic fertilizers are reused and work is being done to improve the hotel’s accessibility.
Cocktails and liquors with traditional Cuban flavors are also created as another attraction aimed at diversifying offers and preserving the national identity in the tourism sector.
The Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel was conceived to promote sustainable tourism in harmony with the environment. Which has been consolidated during the operation of the facilities.
For its environmental management, the hotel has received national and international recognition from France and Cuba for its work in the conservation of the coastline. The implementation of the single-use plastic project and the elimination of refrigerant gases that are harmful to the environment.
