Dasens in Holguin supplies inputs to hotel chains

The Dasens MSME in Holguin province, the only one in eastern Cuba dedicated to the industrialization of toiletries and cosmetics, sells supplies to tourist resorts in this region of the country, thus contributing to strengthening the local economy.

In order to meet the demand for personal and household cleaning supplies, they manufacture mini-doses of hair conditioner and shampoo, as well as bath gel for wholesale to hotels in the provinces of Granma, Las Tunas, Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba, Daniel González Mayán, president of the company, told CNA.

They also specialize in the manufacture of detergent, chlorine, bleach, disinfectant, descaler and pinaroma, sold through links established with Comercializadora ITH S.A., in charge of the distribution of articles for Cuban tourism, he explained.

González Mayán pointed out that its production capacity allows it to supply more than 130 entities with which it has contracts, among them Corporacion Cimex S.A., the Public Health sector, Comercializadora de la Industria Ligera (Encomil) and Producciones Varias (Provari).

As for its presence in the retail market, the MSMEs have a network of points of sale in municipalities such as the provincial capital and Calixto García, where they sell soaps, deodorants, perfumes and toiletries, among others.

He also pointed out that the raw material is imported from countries such as Panama, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, while the packaging is acquired through linkages with new economic forms in Villa Clara.

Three years after its foundation, Dasens, which began its artisanal work with the production of antibacterial gel, has diversified and expanded its offer to around 40 articles to which it has incorporated keratin and combing cream.
