NutriHolguin 2025, the VIII Scientific Conference of the Chair of Nutrition that began this May 27th at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin (UCMHo in the Spanish acronym), concludes this Friday after fruitful debates on how a balanced diet helps prevent chronic diseases and maintain optimal health.
The opening of the event was attended by Dr. Sergio Santana Porbén, vice president of the Cuban Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism and editor of the Cuban Journal of Food and Nutrition, and it’s sessions have welcomed both teachers and students.
According to Infomed Holguin, the participants have coincided in interesting spaces to share experiences and results related to the field of nutrition. In order to generalize advances and promote scientific projects on this important subject.
The information adds that as part of the program of the event, academic and scientific activities have been held in the provincial hospitals. On Wednesday, the amphitheater of the Medical Sciences University hosted a workshop on Nutrition and Sports. While another workshop on immunonutrition was held at the Dean’s Hall.
A debate on nutrition and cancer is scheduled for today 29th at the General University Hospital Vladimir Ilich Lenin.
NutriHolguin 2025 has been an opportunity to make known the most relevant research results developed in the province on the specialty of Nutrition. As well as to promote the development of new scientific projects on this subject and the collaboration between the careers of Medical Sciences, with an impact on the training of human resources.
