The Rutas Holguin Tourist Commercial Palace was inaugurated on Wednesday as a project of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur in the Spanish acronym) and it’s institutions to enrich and diversify the proposal of the sector in the territory.
Located in the central boulevard of the eastern city, Rutas Holguin presents an integrating space for the market, local identity and tourism promotion. Acting as a management center not only for the poles of sun and beaches and excursion areas, but also for the city’s own promenade.
Francisco Suárez Fernández, Mintur’s delegate in the territory, pointed out that the creation of the project offers an answer to the lack of an integrating and mediating space between visitors and the community. Aimed at positioning the urban center for it’s cultural and commercial attractions.
In the premises, the main actors of the sector are distributed in an Info-Café, in charge of Palmares. The Infotur office; and a representation of the tour operators Cubatur, Viajes Cubanacan, Havanatur and Gaviotatur. Whose new position favors the delivery of a more coordinated and complete service.
Suarez Fernandez also informed that, as a strategic component, the Tourism Observatory is incorporated to the facility, with the aim of generating data, analysis and trends of the behavior of this field in the province, sharing a close link with the University of Holguin.
During the opening, which was attended by Joel Queipo Ruíz, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province. And Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguin, among other authorities. Special recognition was given to companies and institutions that supported and financed the creation of the project.
The Palacio Rutas Holguin is the first work inaugurated by the Mintur in honor of July 26th. Which pays tribute to the identity of the Holguin people, and hopes to position itself as a reference in the work of establishing the northeastern province as a vacation destination of choice.
