Río de Oro among the best hotels in the Caribbean

Paradisus Río de Oro, in Holguin, is among the resorts honored as the best all-inclusive hotels in the Caribbean. According to records from the specialized website Trip Advisor.

These are two properties operated by the Spanish hotel company Meliá, while other properties from this Iberian company also received recognition, according to a statement released in Havana.

Meliá Cuba’s message mentions the Paradisus Río de Oro and Meliá Buenavista hotels, winners of the Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best 2025 award.

This award is based on the numerous positive reviews left by Tripadvisor users and is given to only one percent of all profiles listed on the platform.

Paradisus Río de Oro is a luxury adults-only eco-resort on Esmeralda Beach (on the north coast of the eastern province of Holguin), ideal for weddings, honeymoons, and wellness trips. It stands out for its exclusive Royal Service area with personalized service, as well as for its options for nature lovers.

Meanwhile, Meliá Buenavista is located in a Biosphere Reserve on Cayo Santa María (central Cuba) and welcomes guests over 18 years of age seeking an exclusive vacation experience, offering privacy and intimacy.

Additionally, seven properties managed by this company were recognized among the best in the Greater Antilles. In the Cuban capital, the Meliá Habana, Meliá Cohiba, and INNSiDE Habana Catedral hotels received the Travelers’ Choice badge; in Varadero, the Sol Caribe Beach award went to the hotel.

In Cienfuegos, the awards went to Meliá San Carlos and La Unión Affiliated by Meliá, and in the northern cays of Villa Clara, the Meliá Cayo Santa María stood out.
