An official delegation led by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla began a work program in Beijing. Within the framework of the IV Ministerial Meeting of the CELAC-China Forum, to be held on May 13th in that city.
According to Rodríguez Parrilla in X, he met with Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission Office, and Chinese Foreign Minister.
During the exchange, the Cuban official senior wished the host country success at the CELAC-China Forum and reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to this mechanism.
The Cuban Foreign Minister also met with Dilma Rousseff, president of the New Development Bank. In reviewing the meeting at X, the Cuban Foreign Minister referred to Rousseff as a close friend of Cuba.
He also indicated that both parties highlighted the possibilities offered by the New Development Bank as an alternative and opportunity for the South nations.
During this meeting, Rodríguez Parrilla also spoke with Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Central Commission for Disciplinary Control of the CCP, and reaffirmed that interparty ties are a cornerstone of the strategic relations between China and Cuba.
Rodríguez Parrilla arrived in Beijing, the Chinese capital, this Sunday leading a delegation also comprised of Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández, Director General of Bilateral Affairs.
Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, Director General of Latin America and the Caribbean. Juan Antonio Quintanilla Román, Director General of Multilateral Affairs and International Law; and Alberto Blanco Silva, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the People’s Republic of China.
