The popular Cuban orchestra Van Van gave a massive concert in Holguin’s Calixto García Íñoguez Revolution Square. Marking the closing of the 32nd edition of the Romerías de Mayo.
Thousands of Holguin residents attended the event, which showcased the highlights of the repertoire of the so-called Cuban Music Train. To dance to the rhythms of the iconic group.
“I have the best impressions of the event. Work sometimes makes it impossible for us to come here; but now we’re taking advantage of it and coming to the city to enjoy this festival with the people.” Samuel Formell, the orchestra’s director, told the Cuban News Agency.
The group Agranel and El Kíkiri de Cisneros performed before the show, followed by the highly anticipated ascent of the Axe of Holguin, a symbol of the city. To the top of one of the 18-story buildings.
This ceremony symbolizes the new era of the festival that unites tradition and modernity. The call for entries for the next edition of the Romerías was also launched.

Organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the event annually brings together creators from Cuba and several other nations, and this time it was dedicated to the cultural industries and the promotion of young artists.
Additionally, some 120 artists from 18 countries participated, including Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Venezuela.
