Crafts Fair returns to ExpoHolguin Fairground

The Crafts Fair “Art and Tradition”, known in previous editions as “Art for Mom”, returned to Holguin from this Friday May 2nd. At the ExpoHolguin Fairground, as part of the May Pilgrimages.

In this year’s edition, the fair offers a wide variety of products for the home, wood crafts, goldsmithing, textiles, footwear and costume jewelry. As well as exhibition and sale of works of fine arts.

The Crafts Fair “Art and Tradition” is part of the celebrations for the recently signed collaboration agreement between the FCBC. The Provincial Center of Plastic Arts (CPAP) and the Caracol chain of stores. Which seeks to provide different spaces for artistic exhibition and presentation, mainly aimed at promoting tobacco.

According to Yuricel Moreno Zaldívar, director of CPAP, this agreement means an important step not only in the commercial link. But also in the promotion of the artists’ work and the social impact created through the strengthening of alliances in order to promote the nation’s identity products.

This event is usual due to the proximity of the second Sunday of May. When Mother’s Day is celebrated in Cuba. At the same time it is a space that promotes handicrafts as an authentic expression of the people and identity of Cuba.

Based on one of the objectives of the FCBC to encourage the taste of the national public and the socialization of the artistic product through craft fairs.
