Lupe pointed out that Palestinians annually commemorate the events that took place on March 30, 1976. In response to the Israeli government’s announcement of a plan to expropriate a large amount of land. Owned by Palestine, to create new Jewish settlements.
Faced with that decision, a general strike and numerous demonstrations were organized in the Palestinian-majority cities in Israel. Which were attacked by Israeli army and police forces.
To pay posthumous tribute to the fallen, in defense of their lands and cultural identity. The date of March 30 was chosen, an occasion on which the Cuban people unconditionally support the Palestinian people.
