As part of the institutional evaluation of the University of Holguin (UHo), experts from the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba visited the Engineering and Design Services Company (Vértice) to learn about its results as a teaching unit and consolidate the relationship between both institutions.
The meeting brought together researchers, university graduates, workers of the entity and representatives of higher education. During the day, the achievements of this area of instruction and the benefits of this connection were evaluated.
Also in a classroom equipped with modern technology, a digital library and a well-structured system of standards, the comprehensive preparation of students is guaranteed. Representatives of both parties collaborate in the development of conferences focused on vocational training and career guidance.
In addition, the University participates as a jury in the Business Science and Innovation Forum and joins workshops, courses, diplomas and conferences related to its specialty, said Dayana Fernández Yanes, director of Business Development.
Moreover this program promotes joint actions that include the exchange of academic materials, participation in research programs, mutual advice and the organization of student visits to the works that the company carries out in the tourist center of the province, strengthening collaboration and practical learning.
Isnel Benítez Cortés, a member of the Evaluators Commission, highlighted the importance of expanding this project by linking students from other provinces, with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences and enriching academic training from this initiative.
For eight years, Vértice has received the National Vanguard badge, an achievement that is largely attributed to the link between university and business, as well as to the execution of this project.
This strategic alliance between UHo and Empresa Vértice offers mutual benefits, strengthens the bond between theory and practice, and ensures that future professionals adjust to the current demands of the industry.
