Conciencia Ediciones, the publishing house of the University of Holguin, is present at the 33rd edition of the International Book Fair in its Holguin chapter, which began on March 20.
One of its activities in the University Pavilion at the Casa de la Prensa was the conference “Conciencia Ediciones en el contexto universitario: una década después”, by the master’s degree in Higher Education Sciences Xiomara Garzón Montes de Oca, who recounted the significance of this publishing house for the university community since 2014.
In the current edition of the Book Festival in Holguin, which runs until March 23, Conciencia Ediciones also presented the catalog that includes the publications in its first decade of founding, and highlighted the consecration of its collective to face the work in the edition of printed and digital books and the electronic magazines Luz and Deporvida. Which have allowed them to show a consolidated work in quantity and quality.
Yané Álvarez Rómulo, director of the publishing house, recounted how the Catalogue was conceived in record time to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Conciencia Ediciones, who intervened in it so that it could be presented at the beginning of the advertising campaign for the decade of the publishing house, which today exhibits significant texts characterized by the beauties of their covers and in the interior design in which the fresh look of the young people who make up this group.
During the first day, meetings dedicated to the 25 years of the System of Territorial Editions (SET) were also held by Ediciones La Luz, publisher of the Hermanos Saíz Association, and the Homeland Pavilion was inaugurated, sponsored by the Provincial Directorate of Culture in conjunction with historians and students of the territory.
The Holguin International Book Fair 2025, inaugurated last Thursday, is dedicated to two outstanding figures of Holguin letters: the writer and editor José Luis Serrano and the cultural promoter Joaquín Osorio Carralero.
More than 490 titles and 80 literary novelties will be on sale during this cultural event.
