It was an intense day of work and learning, with the presence of experts from countries such as Mexico and Colombia, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK). Who provided us with a comprehensive update on the management of emerging and re–emerging diseases in Cuba, with emphasis on those transmitted by vectors. As well as the experiences left by Covid–19“.
During the scientific sessions of the event, the participants received an update on the management of health surveillance. The work of the Civil Defense and at the level of MINSAP in situations of this nature, where the early action of professionals in the sector plays an essential role. To transmit timely information, capable of guaranteeing the confidence and tranquility of the Cuban population.
An update of the International Health Regulations was also provided and tools were offered to prepare at a specific time when it is required an evaluation of the main behaviors for each disease that constitutes a threat.
In this sense, the institutional communicator of the DGS also said that at times when communication is perfected in the world. Where Cuba is not exempt, health communication takes on more prominence. This principle contributes to the development of all our processes, based on proper communication.
So what we learned in this workshop we are going to extend to our province to share the experiences of different countries in the management of risk communication and communication in times of crisis. In order to improve our work and to better reach the population so that they adopt better patterns of behavior to contribute to a better quality of life for our people.
Health promotion and prevention are essential for this purpose. Ensuring that in times of complex epidemiological scenarios there is greater preparation in the professionals in charge of communication in health institutions.
