This Saturday, the Holguin branch of the José Martí Cultural Society presented the “Patria Newspaper” distinction to the journalist of the Holguin radio system, José Ramón Rubalcaba Oliu, in recognition of his work in the dissemination of patriotic values and Martí’s thought.
For his part, Leonardo Nieves, president of the Martí club of Citma and also a collaborator of the provincial radio station, was decorated with the distinction “The Utility of Virtue”, in honor of his outstanding career in the research and promotion of the life and work of the National Hero of Cuba.
The awards were presented at the beginning of the organization’s balance assembly where the Holguin Martí residents evaluated the work carried out during the year 2024 and drew up the guidelines for this year, in order to continue promoting the values and legacy of the Apostle of Cuban Independence.
With the presence of Nilcer Batista, member of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the work of the Martí clubs in the province was discussed, highlighting the achievements achieved and the challenges to be overcome in the promotion of the thought and work of José Martí.
With the renewed commitment of its members and the support of the community, the members of the José Martí Cultural Society in Holguin continue their work in promoting the legacy of José Martí, guided by the conviction that, as himself taught, “Doing is the best way to say.”
