The Cuban industry has long stood out with the production of Premium cigars, which today have their most significant point with the Habanos Festival that attracts the eyes of the whole world.
With the return to the halls of the Cuban capital of this event, with its XXV edition from February 24 to 28, the island‘s tobacco industry highlighted the attraction of these luxury products and their impact on the international market.
This five–day Festival summarizes touring rolling factories, plantations, pairings, and three special nights dedicated to unique brands, the Habanos World Challenge Contest, the Trade Fair and the International Seminar.
The shine corresponds to the 150th anniversary of Romeo and Juliet, for the welcome, a panel on the 35th anniversary of the La Casa del Habano franchise and a night for H. Upmann. With the closing or Gala Night dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Behike Line of the Cohiba brand, the most elitist.
The international corporation Habanos S.A. presents on the occasion a global contest around one of the most exclusive and prestigious cigars it sells in the world: the Cohiba Behike.
This is a special milestone for the Behike Line, which celebrates its 15th anniversary. To commemorate this occasion, Habanos S.A. therefore decided to give fans the opportunity to be part of its exclusive Gala Night. One of the most anticipated moments of the Festival and where spectacular humidors, works of art are auctioned.
The Behike, whose name comes from the legend of a doctor or Taíno chief, the indigenous tribe of Cuba of its origins, is considered one of the most luxurious products in the industry.
This cigar, which saw the light of day in 2010, became a symbol of the tradition and prestige of Cuban cigars, consolidating itself as the best kept secret of the Cohiba brand.
In addition, Cohiba, created in 1966, was the first cigar brand to emerge after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959. Its name, which refers to an instrument used by the Cuban aborigines to light tobacco leaves, is today synonymous with excellence in the world of Premium tobacco.
Behike, in particular, is manufactured on a limited basis at the El Laguito factory, located in Havana, using the best tobacco leaves from the regions of San Juan y Martínez and San Luis, in Pinar del Río.
These leaves, known as Medio Tiempo or Fortaleza 4, are extremely scarce, as they are only obtained from the top of the sun–grown tobacco plant, adding additional value to this already unique product.
All these details appear today and are highlighted, at the International Seminar of the Convention Center, as a very special attraction for attendees who come from various corners of the world.
