Four boxers from Holguin will have action in the 2025 Challenger Match, which will be hosted by the José Martí Sports Complex in Havana on Friday and Saturday.
The people from Holguin present in the fight, in which the two-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion Julio César La Cruz will take part, are Jairo Munive, José Manuel Soto, Carlos Aguilera and Ramón de la Torre.
In the poster this Friday the 21st, of 13 fights including four between women, Munive, of the 67 kilograms, will face David Espinosa, Soto, in the 80s, will fight with Xavier Fernández, and in the 86s, Aguilera will fight with Nelson William and De la Torre will challenge Yose Maikel Denis.
The winners of these fights will fight again on Saturday the 22nd against those who are also victorious in these same weight categories. That second day will have 11 lawsuits.
For his part, La Cruz will cross gloves in the 92 kilograms with Freddy Pérez on the second day of the contest, on a date where Alejandro Claro (51 kg) will face Giovis Salfrán and Fernando Arzola (+ 92kg) will exchange blows with Yoel Duvergel.
The event will celebrate the 64th anniversary of the creation of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation.
In the case of Jorge Manuel Soto from Holguin, in addition to his presence in this Challenger Match, he will have his first professional fight on February 28 in Russia, against a boxer from that country.
