The start of the rehabilitation of the boiler of block two of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant, in Felton, and its executive schedule was confirmed by sources from this industry, located in the municipality of Mayarí, in the province of Holguín.

Erick Milanés Quinzán, general director of the plant, confirmed to journalist Emilio Rodríguez Pupo, of Radio Mayarí, that the start-up is scheduled for May 2025 and its executive schedule will take about two and a half years.

For this purpose, he said, all the structures of the boiler are practically in the country and during the next month the last necessary supplies are expected to be used in the manufacture of this component that will be manufactured at the Fábrica de Estructuras Metálicas Paco Cabrera (Metunas).

Milanés Quinzán said that the arrival of the pipes contracted abroad for the manufacture of the boiler aggregates is expected soon, and the assembly will begin after a schedule of about two and a half years, which will leave the unit ready.

Also, he said, by the end of this year the necessary financing is expected to be available for the acquisition of the rest of the elements and equipment to establish an assembly sequence and enable the final synchronization of the unit.
