With the arrival at Frank País García International Airport of the flight of the Spanish airline World2Fly from Prague, Czech Republic, the high winter season of the tourist area in the province of Holguín began.
The flight that arrived with 285 tourists, who chose to travel with the tour operator DER Touristik CZ, arrived in the afternoon of Saturday at the Holguin air terminal, according to Carlos Alvarez, commercial specialist of the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur).
“With the opening of this new operation from Prague, which will be until approximately March and connects Holguín with the Czech Republic, the high season in the province is brought forward and we will also have from this same market, approximately in the month of December, a new operation from Slovakia,” Alvarez explained.
From the end of October and beginning of November, the traditional airlines flying from Canada, Germany, Italy and the traditional flights from the United States of America continue.
DER Touristik CZ will operate with destination Holguin, with weekly ticket cycles and clients for most hotels in the Holguin pole, assured Ian Marek, head of contracting for the tour operator agency.
“We have started last year with a flight to Santa Clara and this year we started with the Prague-Holguin connection. It is really the first time that a flight from the Czech Republic arrives to Frank País airport. And it is a flight that will arrive every Saturday, this time with the capacity of the plane completely full in spite of everything that happened lately with the hurricane and the electricity issue”, said the tour operator.
The Holguín Tourist Pole is betting on remaining one of Cuba’s main destinations with sun and beach, city, nature, historical and cultural products.
