The event “For the balance of the world” will be held in the city of Holguin from October 16 to 18 with a program of conferences dedicated to the research of cultural policies, diversity and the role of youth in Cuban society.
Héctor Miguel Niles Abalo, provincial president of the José Martí Cultural Society, informed to the press that the event is part of the activities for the 29th anniversary of the creation of the Society and is framed in the 130th anniversary of José Martí’s killing in action in Dos Ríos (May 19, 1896).
Unlike previous years, on this occasion, in addition to the academic part we will have the inauguration of fine arts exhibitions, panels dedicated to the three decades of the Casa de Iberoamérica and youth forums on the defense of the national identity, said Niles Abalo.
He also pointed out that the inaugural conference “Fidel Castro and the Assault to the Moncada Barracks, dismantling the historical manipulation” will be given by PhD. Alexander Abréu, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Holguin.
The event is the prelude to the Sixth International Conference For the Balance of the World “With all and for the good of all”, to be held in Havana from January 28 to 31, 2025.
This world forum of plural and multidisciplinary thought is supported and co-sponsored by UNESCO, the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture, the Culture of Peace Foundation, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences and other international, regional and national institutions.
