The Grand Memories Hotel, located in the municipality of Antilla, opened its doors to DIT Gestión, an assistance group of travel agencies based in the Kingdom of Spain, as part of the II International Macro Convention in Cuba.

For a week, 220 Spaniards and 80 Portuguese will gather in this archipelago to participate in a program that combines specialized training, activities designed to training and strengthen teamwork, and the possibility of immersing themselves in Cuba’s rich culture.

Rafael Villanueva, commercial director of the Blue Diamond chain in Cuba, described the event as a great opportunity to learn about Cuba’s rich culture, especially in the eastern region of the country.

Cuba, described the event as an opportunity for professional growth, “For us it has been a unique journey. Bringing the travel agents to El Ramón de Antilla is an effective way to sell this new tourist destination in the province of Holguín”.

But the event is also a way to strengthen the bonds of solidarity with Cuba, as expressed by John Arriaga, president of the group, who said: “We have brought more than six tons of medical supplies for different hospitals in the eastern zone, and precisely this morning I was at the municipal hospital delivering a sample of them”.

The attendees enjoyed a day in Antilla that exceeded their expectations.

“We got to know this region and we have enough arguments to promote it as a paradisiacal tourist destination,” said Marina Paz, a criterion that was unanimously seconded by the other attendees.

This II International Macro Convention was considered as an opportunity for Holguín to become one of the most important tourist destinations in the Caribbean nation.
