The work of Cuban innovators was honored in Holguín

From the eastern province of Holguin, the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (Anir for its Spanish acronym) extended on Tuesday its admiration and pride for all Cuban innovators, who celebrate their day this October 8th.

In the tribute, held at Frank País García International Airport and attended by Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary of that structure in Holguín, and Manuel Hernández Aguilera, governor of the province, the work of those who from one end to another respond with intelligence and creativity to technological and service problems and favor savings, import substitution and increased labor productivity, was highlighted.

In the presence of Lidier Águila Machado, national president of Anir, the provinces of Havana, Sancti Spíritus and Santiago de Cuba were recognized with the Outstanding Category in the operation of the organization, while Holguín was applauded as the most comprehensive and winner of the national event for the date.

The ceremony for the Innovator’s Day was a propitious moment to award the October 8th National Condition to the Innovators and Rationalizers Committees of the entities Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Power Plant, UEB Frigorífico Holguín, Octavio de La Concepción de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital, Inejiro Asanuma Spinning Mill, Holplast Pipe Factory, Lázaro Peña Cigar Company and Frank País García International Airport.

The same incentive was given individually to 10 outstanding Anir members from Holguin, who have in their service record important innovations deserving of awards and recognitions.

For their exemplary attitude in scientific, technical and innovative activities, the Badge October 8th was awarded to Leonardo Legrá Suárez, from School Bus Transport company; Teodoro Díaz Molina, from the Pedro Sotto Alba nickel company; Ricardo López Ledea, from Médano construction company; Jorge Luis Chelala Guerra, from Frigorífico; and Karel Reyes Escobar, from Almacenes Universales S.A.

At the end of the event, in which the figure of the Heroic Guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara was remembered on the 57th anniversary of his wounding and imprisonment, Lidier Águila Machado read the Call for the Third Anir National Conference, which under the motto “To Innovate is to Grow” is planned to be held in October 2025.
