
The team Alegres from Mayari with their double victory this Saturday, as visitors against the Cafetaleros de Sagua de Tanamo, remained as the only undefeated squad in the XLVII Provincial Baseball Series, after four days of competition.
Mayari team won the first match 6×3 with Yosmel Garcés (2-0) in the mound, and a productive offense by Luis Laurence (2-4 and 2 runs driven in), and in the game the Alegres won by a 7×0 shutout against Giorvis López, in which Franklin Aballe produced his third home run in the season.
At Luis Alberto Rodríguez Blanco stadium, the Ferroviarios from Cueto opened with a 7×5 win with a credit to José Luis Martínez, supported by the offense of Jorge Poll (4-3 and 1 run batted in), but then the Leones from Frank País reacted an won 7×2 with Leodanis Dubois in the box and outstanding batting by Reinier Lara (2-4 and 4 runs driven in).
As visitors at Angel Romero Videaux Stadium, the Tigres from Báguanos initially blanked the Mineros from Moa 3×0, with excellent work in the hill by thrower Carlos Alberto Santiesteban and Cristian Onofre’s at bat (3-4, a homer and 4 runs batted in).
In the second hour, the team from Moa got the win 8×3, thanks to the good job in the hill by Juan Luis Matos and the outstanding batting of Adrián Pineda and Héctor Naranjo, both 3-2 and the latter with two runs batted in.
At the Feliú Leyva stadium in the provincial capital city, the Sultanes from Holguín defeated the Piratas from Gibara 2×0 in the first round, with combined work by the winning pitchers César Concepción and Jesús Enrique Pérez, who saved the game.
At the second game, the defending champions won 3×2 with Estíven Rodríguez throwing the seventh innings.
The Indios from Banes started with a 5×1 victory at Luis Figueredo Escobar stadium in the town of Maceo, where left-handed Dairián Batista with the support of Eddy García (1-3 and 2 runs driven in), while Antonio Miranda hit a home run for the defeated team. At the end, the Mambises from Cacocum took revenge 5×2 with a hit by Víctor Paz.
The Navegantes from Rafael Freyre pleased the fans present at Mariano Camacho Romero stadium in Santa Lucía by winning the opening match 3×2 with Luis Robles on the mound. The second game was a 3×2 victory for the Vaqueros from Calixto García.
Another division of honors was experienced at Rogelio Pupo Ricardo stadium in San Germán, where the Colosos from Urbano Noris initially defeated the Juveniles 2×1 with winning credit to Álvaro Cobas, then the Cachorritos tied, 4×2, with winning work by Eliesner Tamayo, save for Richard García and outstanding offensive action by Yordan Manduley Jr, 2-3 and 2 runs driven in).
After these results, the standings in each of the zones are as follows:
Eastern Division: Mayarí, (8-0); Sagua de Tanamo (4-2); Cueto (5-3); Baguanos (3-3); Moa (3-5); Frank País (1-5) and Antilla (0-6).
Western Division: Holguin (6-1); Banes (5-3); Calixto García, Cacocum and Juveniles (4-4), Urbano Noris (3-4); Gibara (3-5) and Rafale Freyre (2-6).
The fifth particular matches, with double games to seven innings starting at 10:00 am, will be on Wednesday the ninth, with the following matches:
Eastern Division: Mayarí Vs Antilla (Emilio Gómez Bermúdez); Báguanos Vs Sagua de Tanamo (Melchor Anído) and Leones de Frtank País Vs Moa (Rogelio Herrera). Cueto take the day off.
Western Division: Holguín Vs Banes (Feliú Leyva); Vaqueros Vs Colosos (Orlando Proenza Vera); Cacocum Vs Juveniles (Luis Figueredo) and Navegantes de Freyre. Vs Gibara (Mariano Camacho).
