Holguin Provincial Concert Band is a renowned musical group in Cuba that has stood out for its artistic excellence and its contribution to the country’s culture.

The Provincial Concert Band of Holguin celebrated the centenary of its foundation this October 10, 2022. Hundreds of generations of musicians have been formed with it. It is synthesis and continuity because it is the legacy of 100 years dedicated to Holguin’s culture, as well as the commitment to continue being part of its patrimony in the times to come.

Humberto Pino Hernandez, instrumentalist, teacher and director of the Provincial Band of Concert of Holguin arrived, last September 1st, to the four decades of walking between the walls of the conservatory José María Ochoa forming musicians for the city, the province and beyond; of taking out the best melodies of his saxophone…of creating.
The anniversaries almost always come accompanied by remembrances and this time we did not want them to remain only fluttering in the memory of this Illustrious Son of the City of Holguin, who with his art and his pedagogy also arrived until distant lands.
The memories took him to his young years, then his face of mounted man already in the 60’s showed the freshness of the boy of 18 years that he was when at the end of the National School of Art (Ena) in Havana, he executed his graduation recital.
