Holguin Governor toured food sector entities

The governor of Holguin province, Manuel Francisco Hernandez Aguilera, toured this Wednesday entities belonging to the Ministry of Food Industry (Minal), in the capital city, in order to check the current situation of food production, an issue that worries all Holguin citizens.

The governmental tour began at the Empresa de Productos Lácteos de Holguín (dairy company), which has achieved to a certain extent a growth in the production of ice cream and cheese, thanks to the production chain, but still shows deficient results in the delivery of other assortments such as the demanded milk for children.

The leader encouraged the board of directors of this entity to take positive experiences from other dairy companies in the country in order to have more control over the collection of milk, the production of its by-products and other lines.

The second site visited was Ember beverage and soft drink factory, where the governor insisted on the need to link up with the Raw Materials Company for the acquisition of clean bottles.

This factory will diversify its production through the installation of a pasteurizing plant that is still waiting for the contracting of fruits for its start-up.

The head of the Government in the province also went to the Hermanos Aguilera bakery, where he talked with the neighbors and inquired about the opinion of the people regarding the quality and price of the assortments, the diversification of sales and the on-line payment.

He then checked in a production unit belonging to the Empresa Provincial Productora y Distribuidora de Alimentos (Numa) the elaboration of the 20 tons of noodles and elbow macarroni that are processed there. The leader proposed to commercialize these pastas in the warehouses and thus contribute to the feeding of the people.

The governmental tour, in the interest of measuring the effort to produce food in the province, arrived at Empresa de Conservas de Frutas y Vegetales Turquino fruit canning factory, where a packaging line with a production capacity of one thousand cans of jams per day was just being inaugurated; this entity was one of the ones that had the most positive results during the check-up.

It is worth mentioning that during the tour Hernández Aguilera kept his interest in the subject of banking and the need to facilitate electronic payment methods to the workers.

Achieving positive criteria in the people, when it comes to food, is a challenge for those involved in its production. That is why it is time to redouble efforts in the food industry entities in favor of social welfare.
