The fulfillment of cultural development programs, the insertion in social networks and the increase of community work stand out among the results of the Union of Culture Workers (SNTC) in Holguin, national headquarters for the 47th anniversary of its foundation.
Yakelin Tapia Aguilera, provincial director of the sector, announced in a press conference on Wednesday that the territory maintains institutions for several consecutive years with the status of National Vanguard, among them, the Provincial Book Center, the Alex Urquiola Public Library and the branch of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods.
She also mentioned that to date more than 20 thousand activities have been carried out in response to the special programs of cultural development, as well as the implementation of projects with community initiatives, among them, the summer tour of the artistic brigades through all the municipalities of Holguin.
She also highlighted as merits of the artistic teaching guild the results of the level pass, the coverage of places for new entrants and the academic indexes of recent graduates.
Tapia Aguilera also highlighted the holding of the first lyrical singing event of the University of the Arts, the awarding of the Raúl Gómez García medal to personalities with more than 20 years of work in the sector, as well as the link with the territory’s press media and the correspondent of the Cuban News Agency.
For his part, Félix Raúl Martínez, secretary general of the SNTC in the territory, emphasized that the province of Holguín deserved the status of National Vanguard for the commitment of its affiliates, the blood donations, the accomplishment of more than 50 volunteer works and the integrality of the organization’s performance.
The national act for the 47th anniversary of the foundation of the Union of Culture Workers will take place next September 7, at the Bariay Club in the city of Holguin, under the direction of maestro Oreste Saavedra and will be attended by the local artistic talent.
