“La piñata” and “El piojo” are songs that accompany more than one generation of Cubans. In an interview with producer Yinet Cruz Cabrera, for the radio program La Algarabía on CMKO Radio Angulo, we get an insight into the life of singer-songwriter Edelis Loyola, from Holguin province.
Edelis is the recipient of the Raúl Gómez García medal, the highest distinction awarded by the National Union of Cultural Workers, for her contributions to society through artistic creation for 40 years.

After four decades of artistic career she was able to release her first album, La piñata, in 2022 and at the end of 2023 he released her video clip La vaca de Ventura, an audiovisual with 2D animation sponsored by the Provincial Directorate of Culture in Holguin, the Egrem and Artex.
Edelis Loyola is a member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, producer of radio and television programs, and her repertoire includes some 50 works, where she essentially recreates the universe of children and civic values.
Together with trova interpreters Teresita Fernández and Rita del Prado, she is the founder of the Latin American and Caribbean Children’s Song Movement, founded in 1994 at Casa de las Américas.
