Doctor in Medical Sciences Reinol Delfín García, Viceminister of Public Health toured for two days sanitary institutions of the province of Holguin, focused on the behavior of the main programs of this sector in Cuba.
On Thursday, the deputy minister visited the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Hospital in Gibara, which is about to inaugurate its first stage of repairs. At the institution he exchanged with professionals, managers and patients, accompanied by the highest health authorities in the province of Holguin.
In the morning of this July 12, he participated in the commemorative event for the 209th anniversary of the birth of Mariana Grajales Coello, name given to the University of Medical Sciences of Holguin, opportunity in which he toured the House of Higher Studies, the Student Residence and the children’s house Mi pequeñuelo, the first of its kind in the health sector in the province.
Cuban Viceminister tours health facilities in Holguin
The tour made by the Vice President seeks to know the living conditions of the boarding students of Health Sciences, the professional training process in that Higher Education Center, one of the largest in the country and the teachings and care provided to the children of working mothers and students of the UCMHo.
Accompanied by Dr. Julio Yamel Verdecia Reyes, General Director of Health in Holguín; Dr. Galina Galcerán Chacón, Rector of the University and other directors, his presence in Holguín also included a visit to the hospitals Vladimir Ilich Lenin, Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja and Lucía Iñiguez Landín to talk with workers and patients of these health care centers about the quality of the services provided to the population.
During the tour, he referred to the results and goals in the quality of services, the completion of the work force, the work of specialists, basic health teams and work groups.
