The camping site that is currently in the final phase of construction on Caletones beach, located in the ecological reserve of the same name, in the municipality of Gibara in Holguín province, will begin to operating during the current summer season on the northeastern coast of Cuba.
Carlos Toledo Armas, provincial director of Campismo Popular in Holguín, confirmed exclusively to ACN that, before the end of July, this establishment will join the other 10 that the business group has in the territory.
Initially, the facility will open its doors with the first 20 high-comfort rooms, each with two air-conditioned bedrooms, bathroom, minibar, television and modern furniture.
Guests will have access to gastronomic and beverage services in the restaurant, cafeteria and lobby bar, as well as a game room, store and areas for the enjoyment of recorded music, children’s activities, and the rental of tents for those who wish to recreate on the nearby beach, he said.

Toledo Armas specified that the stable supply of water at the base will be determined by the execution and start-up of a desalination plant, imported by the country and stored in the territory, taking into account that initially the precious liquid will be ensured with the use of tanker cars.
In a second phase, the remaining 20 rooms will be incorporated and the clients will be able to use the swimming pool as the star product of the facility, currently under construction, he specified.

He also commented that during the summer season, the company expects to receive in July and August about 60 thousand users, including guests, hikers and visitors in the form of excursions.
The executive highlighted that the new type of bases in Antillita, Barrancones and Playa Morales, in the municipalities of Antilla and Banes, respectively, are equipped with new tents that replaced those damaged by the inclement weather.
Through the implemented strategies of productive chains, there are guarantees of good food during the period and on the festive dates of the stage, including Children’s Day, July 26 and the birthday of Fidel Castro, historic leader of the Cuban Revolution and creator of the program in the country, he said.
The Provincial Enterprise of Popular Camping in Holguin has 169 solid rooms and 191 tents, distributed in 10 facilities capable of operating with 1,820 clients simultaneously to position itself in the fastest growing territory in the country in recent years in this form of recreation that maintains the principle of integration with the natural environment.
