In collaboration with Lucía Íñiguez Landín Surgical Clinic Hospital and Octavio De la Concepción de la Pedraja Pediatric Hospital, a provincial workshop on dermatological treatments and care was held in Holguín, which brought together outstanding experts and dealt with topics of great relevance for current medical practice.
Organized by the Provincial Chapter of the Cuban Society of Dermatology, relevant works of this specialty were presented, from a historical view with “The History of Dermatology: Discovering the secrets of the skin” to cutting-edge topics such as “Dermatoscopic Patterns of Skin Cancer”.
The workshop addressed a wide range of essential topics such as the surgical training of the Dermatology resident, an approach to cutaneous neoplasms with a surgical approach and knowledge of advanced diagnostic techniques in the field.
Current topics such as the effectiveness of treatment with Heberferon in carcinomas or research on facial therapies such as platelet-rich plasma were also presented and revealed the research spirit of the dermatological community in Holguin.
The approach to skin care and facial rejuvenation techniques were not left out of the agenda, as well as the discussion on routines and care of this organ and the benefits of facial procedures with peelings and the treatment and care of acne.
The diversity of perspectives and approaches of the works presented during the Workshop demonstrated the commitment of the Holguin medical community to research and treatment in Dermatology.
This health event favored the strengthening of collaboration and the exchange of experiences to continue improving the quality of life of patients and excellence in dermatological care in the territory.
