The Sustainable School Feeding Project (AES+), promoted by the World Food Program (WFP), guarantees adequate food for the students of the Leonte Guerra school, in the municipality of Mayari, in the province of Holguin, through links with production methods.
AES+, which uses funds from the Russian Federation, is being implemented in the five eastern provinces of the country, and one of its objectives is to improve the nutrition of vulnerable population groups through the development of climate-resilient agriculture, said WFP official Zoe Diaz.
To achieve this, with the donation of resources and working tools to the participants, they established alliances between the agricultural units and social safety nets, and thus avoiding the cost of food, she said.
Olga Lidia Proenza Gómez, director of the educational institution, explained that along with the Osvaldo Espinal and José Robothan schools in the municipality, her school was chosen
