Art for Dad with offers for Father’s Day in Holguin

The Art for Dad handicrafts fair organized by the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods (FCBC for its Spanish acronym) in Holguin will take place from June 6 to 15 with a variety of offers for the Cuban family.

At the Expo Holguin Fairgrounds, creators from Guantanamo, Havana and Holguin will sell a variety of high-demand items at competitive prices from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm local time.

Carmen Hernandez Torres, deputy commercial director of the FCBC in Holguin, in statements to the Cuban News Agency, announced that among the most representative goods on sale are textiles, jewelry, furniture, household items and toys for the little ones at home.

In addition, thanks to the excellent reception of the Art for Mom fair, now there will also be private management forms that will offer a variety of products of higher quality and of great acceptance by the male public designed to give as gifts on Father’s Day in Cuba.

The FCBC promotes Cuban handicrafts and the defense of the cultural values of the society, distinguishing itself for the authenticity of its proposals and becoming a distinguished institution of the country.

Our Father’s Day

According to the Cuban collaborative encyclopedia Ecured, the first celebration of the date in the archipelago took place on June 19, 1938 at the initiative of writer and artist Dulce María Borrero, who advocated the generalization on the island of the tribute to parents.

In our country it is a family celebration, with similar characteristics to those of the second Sunday of May, Mother’s Day. There are gifts, meetings, outings and family meals. In many schools of the country it is customary to take pictures of the children with allegorical motifs and posters to give as souvenirs to the parents. Of course, there is also no lack of postcards with poems and special congratulatory messages for the date.
