Health workers’ union conferences continue in Holguín

Second National Conference

Among the main actions undertaken by the union in the Health sector in Holguin province are the preparations for its Second National Conference, to be held on December 8 and 9, 2023.

As part of this organic process, conferences have been held in most of the municipalities of the territory, an opportunity for timely analysis, among other issues, on how to improve the functioning of this structure.

According to Annia Cuenca Montero, secretary general of this union in the province, “at this moment, the second stage of the conferences called United and Committed to the Health of our People is being developed, in this process only the municipalities of Holguin, Cueto and Banes are pending, scheduled for next October 20, 8 and 10 November, respectively”.

Among the main issues that have focused the analysis of these assemblies are the functioning of the union structure, the policy of cadres, the quality of health services, the results of the Mother and Child Care Program, the functioning of the Family Doctor and Nurse Program and the attention to the workers of the sector, she added.

Second National Conference

Today, it is essential to improve the work of the health sector in order to raise the quality of services, even though it is well known that there is a shortage of diagnostic resources and other economic limitations affecting the country’s healthcare activity.

The conference at provincial level is scheduled for November 14 and 15, where representatives of all the Health Union members will debate on the sector’s concerns and work to do.
