Díaz-Canel begins governmental visit to Holguín
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, toured the rural settlement of Yaguabo, in the municipality of Cacocum, as part of the governmental visit that begins today in the province of Holguín.
In that neighborhood under vulnerable situation, located in the municipality of Cacocum, which was affected by intense floods last June, the leader verified the repairs to the Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz elementary school and other social institutions, in addition to the renovation of the dike that borders with Granma territory, whose obstruction caused damages to houses and entities.

As part of the program in this northeastern Cuban province, the head of state also held a meeting with the local community group, visit other sites of interest within the population settlement and verify the agricultural productions in that municipality.
In his last visit to this territory, Díaz-Canel called for working to improve the quality of production and services, fundamental aspects to face the current economic and social circumstances the country is going through.

Holguín, Cuba’s third largest province, is one of the country’s main industrial zones with its nickel production.
Nevertheless, in the last years tourism has reached a remarkable development, becoming the third tourist pole in importance in the Island.
