Holguin pays tribute to Cuba’s Homeland Father
As tradicional every Octuber 10 Holguin pays tribute to Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the Homeland Father, and this time, 155 years later the start of the war for Cuba’s independence.
On the presence of top political and government leaders of the province the homage began with the wreath placed by war veterans and youths with a remarkable career at the monument that rises in Holguin on the memory of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.
As part of the celebration, 54 new members of the Communist Party of Cuba were given the PCC card, who ratified the decision of continue on working for a better nation.

In the closing words of the celebration, Luis Castillo Magaña, secretary of the Young Communist League in the municipality of Holguín, said that Carlos Manuel de Céspedes that has called us today is an example today’s Cuban people, at the time he remembered the historic sentence De Céspedes has said: “Oscar is not my only child, all Cubans are my children too”.
Castillo Magaña also alluded to Fidel Castro who said that in Cuba there has been only one Revolution, which De Céspedes began in La Demajagua.
Holguin pays tribute to Cuba’s Homeland Father
This patriotic event marks the start of the activities for Cuban Culture Day, to take place until upcoming October 20, with many activities to be done all across the province.
That day, different cultural institution will be standing out the pride of being Cuban, as the Provincial Concert Band that will be celebrating the 101 anniversary of its foundation.
